Monaco is gearing up for an adrenaline-fueled weekend with the 2025 edition of the 4x4x48 Run Challenge, set to kick off on Thursday, 11 April at 8 PM. Backed by the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, this dynamic event is far more than a test of endurance — it’s a chance to make every step count for a good cause.
Inspired by David Goggins, a legendary former Navy SEAL and ultra-distance runner, the format is simple but intense: participants are invited to run 6.5 km every four hours over a 48-hour period, completing up to 12 runs. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to try a leg or two, the event welcomes athletes of all levels.
Runners will take off from 4 Quai Antoine 1er, right outside the headquarters of the Princess Charlène Foundation, and alternate between two scenic Monaco routes — starting and ending at the same point every time.
What makes this challenge even more meaningful is its charitable purpose. The event supports the Foundation’s life-saving mission: to prevent drowning and promote sports as a tool for education and inclusion.
Participants can sign up for one, several, or all twelve races, depending on their stamina and schedule. An optional €100 donation gets you a limited-edition t-shirt and a celebratory drink at the finish line on Sunday — a great way to end the experience in style.
So, lace up your running shoes and prepare to join Monaco’s most determined crowd for a good cause.
