In honor of the centenary of AS Monaco Omnisports, the association organized the Festival of Sport on the esplanade of Port Hercule. Prince Albert II attended and even participated in the event.
Football, basketball, weightlifting, table tennis, and many more activities made this Saturday a day full of sports in Monaco! The 23 sports sections of AS Monaco Omnisports brought Port Hercule to life to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Here's a visual recap of the Sovereign's visit with the athletes.
"AS Monaco, to me, represents diversity and excellence. From football to swimming, bobsleigh, aikido, e-sports, and table tennis, there might even be two more sports introduced this year for the centenary. The association promotes values dear to us, universal sports values that align closely with Olympic values: solidarity, friendship, fair play, and respect for the rules," stated Prince Albert II to Monaco Info.
"We cannot forget the extraordinary achievements of our football team, but there have been other remarkable results, like those of athletes Téo Andant, Lisa Pou, and many others. I'm also moved by the excellent performances of our youth in water polo and our girls in volleyball.
I believe there is a fantastic dynamic that we should leverage to make our colors shine. With great hope, we celebrate this centenary of ASM and look forward to the next hundred years," expressed the Prince.
This day not only highlighted the rich history and achievements of AS Monaco Omnisports but also looked forward to a promising future, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and community.
