In a formal display of enduring bilateral ties, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were welcomed to the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid this Monday by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.
The visit served to highlight a diplomatic partnership spanning over five centuries. Following their arrival, the heads of state gathered at the Glorieta de los Platanos for an official ceremony, where Catherine Fautrier, the Ambassador of Monaco to Spain, emphasized the historical depth of the friendship between the two nations.
At the Pavilion Villanueva, the party explored two exhibitions organized by the Embassy of Monaco and open to the public from May 28 to June 13. The first, "Monaco and Spain: Five Centuries of Shared History," was produced in collaboration with the Archives of the Prince's Palace to chronicle the cultural and diplomatic milestones of the two nations. The second, the 8th edition of the Monaco Artists' Forum, serves as a platform supported by the Princely Government and the Department of Cultural Affairs to showcase the creativity of Monegasque artists.

The events concluded with a formal reception attended by distinguished guests from both Monaco and Spain, marking a new chapter in the cooperation between the two states.
