In a tradition that underscores the Principality’s enduring role as a hub of international cooperation, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II convened a formal reception at the Palais Princier on Tuesday, April 7, to welcome five new heads of mission. The ceremony was centered on the presentation of letters of credence, the definitive diplomatic ritual that officially establishes a foreign representative’s authority to act on behalf of their sovereign state.
The afternoon’s proceedings saw a diverse assembly of global interests converge upon the palace. Among those officially accredited to the Principality was His Excellency M. Hideo Suzuki, representing Japan, and Her Excellency Mme Mafelile Christina Molala, representing the Kingdom of Lesotho. The European continent was further represented by the accreditation of His Excellency M. Irakli Kurashvili of Georgia and Her Excellency Mme Dubravka Lalović of Montenegro. Rounding out the new diplomatic cohort was Her Excellency Mme Joanna Villarreal Rodriguez, representing the Republic of Panama.

This formal act of accreditation serves as the cornerstone of bilateral relations, transforming a personal appointment into a state-recognized mandate. By accepting these credentials, Prince Albert II reaffirms Monaco’s commitment to a multifaceted foreign policy that spans the reaches of Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The event stands as a testament to the Principality's diplomatic agility, maintaining a robust presence on the world stage through the continuous renewal of international partnerships.
