Within the framework of the twinning partnership uniting Monaco and Dolceacqua, an exceptional concert was held on Saturday, June 27, at the Saint-Georges Church of Dolceacqua. Through this musical rendezvous, the two communes celebrated the deep historical and cultural ties that have interconnected them for centuries. The evening took place in the presence of an array of notable dignitaries, including Mrs. Karyn Ardisson Salopek, Deputy Mayor of Monaco; Mr. Fabio Sbraci, Deputy Mayor of Dolceacqua; and Mrs. Luana Mauro, Councilor for Culture and Events for the Commune of Dolceacqua. They were joined by Mr. Jean-Charles Curau, Secretary General of the Prince Pierre Foundation and President of SOGEDA; Don Pietro Mihalute, Parish Priest of Dolceacqua; and Don Sueli Fornoni, private secretary to Mgr Antonio Suetta, Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ventimiglia-San Remo.

The performance itself was anchored by two renowned artists whose collaborations illustrated the richness of the ongoing cultural exchanges between Monaco and Dolceacqua. The audience was treated to an exceptional showcase by Marie-Claire Bert, former professor of recorder and early chamber music at the Rainier III Academy, alongside Olivier Vernet, titular organist of the grand organs of the Monaco Cathedral and a current professor at the Rainier III Academy. Brought to life by these two distinguished performers, the concert provided a meaningful moment of shared heritage, reaffirming that the centuries-old alliance between the principality and the Italian commune remains as vibrant in its cultural expression as it is enduring in its history.
