This season, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco unveils Couleurs!, a bold and multisensory exhibition that turns colour into an experience. Running until 31 August, this vibrant show invites visitors to explore how pigment shapes emotion, memory, and perception.
Curated by Didier Ottinger of the Centre Pompidou, Couleurs! marks the first-ever collaboration between the Parisian institution and the Grimaldi Forum. Over 100 works by icons like Picasso, Dalí, Warhol, Matisse, and Chagall are grouped not by era or artist, but by hue — each room immersed in a single shade.
But this isn’t just art on walls. Each chromatic space is enriched by custom fragrances from perfumer Alexis Dadier and soundscapes by composer Roque Rivas, making every colour a mood, a moment, a memory.
From the serenity of blue to the fire of red, the rebellious softness of pink to the quiet chaos of white, every shade tells a story. Even green, once mistrusted in modern art, finds new life through luminous works by Picasso.
Architect Marion Mailaender adds yet another dimension, recreating stylish interiors where design objects by Jean Prouvé and Philippe Starck live alongside fine art — proving that colour moves through both our walls and our lives.
For Monaco’s summer culture scene, Couleurs! is more than a highlight — it’s an invitation to feel differently.
Open daily from 10am–8pm (until 10pm Thursdays).
