A Thrilling Season Ahead for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo

Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is gearing up for an unforgettable 2024/2025 season, offering 15 captivating performances that promise to enchant ballet lovers. Under the leadership of Jean-Christophe Maillot, the company is set to present three world premieres, along with a new addition to their impressive repertoire. The excitement doesn't stop in Monaco, as the company’s talented dancers will represent the Principality with global tours across Europe, Mexico, China, and Cuba.

A Dazzling Season Opener

The season will begin with a spectacular Monaco Dance Forum from 11 to 18 December 2024. A lineup of renowned international dance companies will grace the stage, including Compagnie Peeping Tom (Dyptich), Israel Galván (La Edad de Oro), and Ohad Naharin’s Staatsballet Wiesbaden (Last Work). The festival will also feature works by Sharon Eyal, Akram Khan Company (Chooto Desh), and performances from Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, highlighting pieces such as Autodance and Vers un pays sage.

World Premieres and Timeless Classics

This spring, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will spotlight groundbreaking new creations, including *Verklärte Nacht* by German choreographer Marco Goecke, which will be performed from 23 to 27 April at the Grimaldi Forum. Other highlights include George Balanchine’s Les Quatre Tempéraments and the debut of Alexei Ratmansky’s Wartime Elegy, which will become a staple in the company's repertoire. These pieces demonstrate the company’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation.

A Grand Finale

The season will culminate in June with the Princess Grace Academy’s annual end-of-year Gala on 20 and 21 June 2025. Held at the Monte-Carlo Opera's Salle Garnier, the Gala will also showcase two pieces created specifically for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, one by Compagnie Kor’sia and another by Slovakian choreographer Lukáš Timulak.

With such an exciting program, the 2024/2025 season of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo promises to be an extraordinary journey through dance, creativity, and international collaboration.
