Recently, around thirty players from the Academy visited the Maison de l’Intelligence Artificielle (MIA), located near the Diagonale, to delve into the fascinating and vast field of artificial intelligence.
On April 27, the tomb of the famous Greek philosopher Plato, who died in 348 BC, was finally located in the heart of Athens after decades of searching, thanks to advanced imaging technology powered by artificial intelligence. While they still have a year before they study ancient philosophy for their baccalaureate exams, the 2007 generation already witnessed how AI, a key element of the future, can provide insights into the past.
Florence Gianquitieri, a teacher at the Academy, organized the visit to the MIA in Sophia Antipolis. Created by the Conseil Départemental des Alpes-Maritimes, MIA is a unique venue in France and a foundational step in the country's AI technology journey. Like over 20,000 other visitors from the region, the young Rouge et Blanc players, many of whom recently experienced their first French Championship semi-final, explored the 700 square meters of the MIA. They were introduced to AI through discovery, education, and awareness of this innovative technology that already shapes our daily lives.
"Discover," "understand," "experiment," and "raise awareness" are the key phrases prominently displayed in the MIA showroom, a demonstration hub where the Monaco players engaged in various workshops. From playing chess with algorithms to graphic creation, morphing, and learning about AI advancements in the medical field, the players gained comprehensive insights into this technological revolution.
As the Diagonale residents look forward to their upcoming holidays, the Academy’s educational projects remain a cornerstone of their development. This visit, along with other socio-educational activities throughout the year, helps shape them into responsible young citizens. Recently, they visited the Oceanographic Museum, enhancing their environmental awareness. Through these events, the Monaco players expand their horizons and discover innovative tools.
Located in Biot, Alpes Maritimes, the MIA offers a virtual tour on its website. It also hosts numerous conferences, meetings, and debates on AI and its evolution.
