Monaco is no stranger to extraordinary events. From Formula 1 to the Monaco Yacht Show, the Principality has long mastered the art of hosting the world's elite. This summer, another prestigious spectacle joined its social calendar as the Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT) made its highly anticipated debut, transforming Port Hercule into an elegant stage for the finest Arabian horses on the planet.
Over two unforgettable days, the Mediterranean waterfront became the setting for a celebration of beauty, heritage and sporting excellence. Against the backdrop of superyachts, palm-lined promenades and golden Riviera sunsets, breeders, owners, international judges and distinguished guests gathered to witness one of the most refined competitions in equestrian sport.
More than simply another championship, the Monaco stage reflected the essence of the Global Champions Arabians Tour — an event where centuries-old Arabian horse traditions meet contemporary luxury and an international lifestyle.
The world's finest Arabian horses
The competition showcased an exceptional line-up of Purebred Arabian horses from many of the world's leading breeding programmes. Every presentation combined elegance, athleticism and bloodlines carefully cultivated over generations, with each class judged according to the breed's distinctive beauty, movement and overall harmony.
Among the standout winners were D Shahhar, owned by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, who claimed Gold in the Senior Stallions category, while D Najlah, also representing Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, took top honours among the Senior Mares.
The younger generations proved equally impressive. Aesar Al Wajba won Gold in the Junior Colts division, while Expectations Al Wajba secured victory among the Junior Fillies, reaffirming the remarkable quality of the Al Wajba breeding programme.
In the Yearling classes, Al Aali Akmal and Salla AlRemas emerged as Gold champions, highlighting the future stars of Arabian horse breeding.
Throughout the weekend, competitors from across the Middle East and Europe demonstrated the extraordinary level the sport has reached, reinforcing why the Arabian horse continues to be admired as one of the world's most beautiful and noble breeds.

Monaco proves the perfect stage
There could hardly have been a more fitting destination for the Tour's Monaco debut.
The Principality's unique blend of glamour, maritime heritage and international prestige provided an atmosphere unlike any other stop on the calendar. Days filled with competition naturally transitioned into elegant evenings overlooking the harbour, where guests enjoyed luxury hospitality in one of Europe's most exclusive destinations.
The event attracted breeders, collectors, equestrian enthusiasts and international guests, creating an environment that extended well beyond sport. It became a meeting point for a global community united by a shared appreciation for excellence, craftsmanship and tradition.
The success of the inaugural Monaco edition also marks an important milestone for the Tour itself, demonstrating how Arabian horse championships continue to evolve into international lifestyle events that appeal to audiences far beyond the equestrian world.
A growing global stage
Launched in 2024, the Global Champions Arabians Tour has rapidly established itself as one of the most ambitious initiatives in Arabian horse sport. Bringing together elite competitions across iconic international destinations, the series combines record prize money with an unwavering commitment to celebrating the heritage and future of the Purebred Arabian horse.
Its vision extends beyond competition alone. Each stage is designed to showcase the cultural significance of Arabian horses while creating world-class experiences that unite breeders, owners, enthusiasts and luxury audiences from around the globe.
The Monaco debut demonstrated exactly how successfully those two worlds can coexist.
The journey continues
With Monaco now added to its growing list of landmark destinations, the Global Champions Arabians Tour continues its international season with increasing momentum.
The next chapter takes place in London from 14 to 16 August, where the world's leading Arabian horses, breeders and owners will once again gather for another celebration of excellence, tradition and international competition.
Following its spectacular Riviera premiere, one thing is already clear: the Global Champions Arabians Tour is becoming as much a fixture of the international luxury calendar as it is one of the most prestigious championships in Arabian horse sport.
