CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy - Intersecting secular environmentalism with sacred stewardship, the Uomo - Natura: Equilibri Fragili (Man - Nature: Fragile Balances) photography exhibition has officially opened at the Borgo Laudato Si’ within the Pontifical Gardens of Castel Gandolfo. The traveling installation comprises the premier award-winning photographs from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Environmental Photography Award. Following its initial public presentation at the Orto Botanico di Roma, the collection's transition to the papal estate establishes a deeply symbolic, cross-institutional venue where art, science, and spirituality converge to promote environmental conservation.
Organized by the Italian branch of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the exhibition is mounted in close collaboration with the John Paul II Foundation for Youth and operates under the diplomatic patronage of the Embassy of the Principality of Monaco to the Holy See. Additional structural and logistical backing is provided by the Borgo Laudato Si’, the Fondazione Scudieri, Delta Ingegneria, and GIMET. To mark the installation's debut, delegates convened an academic conference titled Caring for Creation: Knowing in Order to Act, which featured a series of panel discussions blending scientific research with cultural and spiritual perspectives on the increasingly destabilized equilibrium between humankind and natural ecosystems.

The curation utilizes global photojournalism to articulate pressing ecological vulnerabilities across specialized categories, spanning polar regions, oceans, and internal wildlife habitats. According to the organizers' formal itinerary, the open-air exhibition will remain accessible to the public within the historic Pontifical Gardens until July 30, 2026, anchoring a summer-long diplomatic effort to transform high-caliber environmental art into a catalyst for institutional policy and public accountability.
