AS Monaco Basket Secures French Championship

Following a grueling five-game series that concluded in a dramatic finale, AS Monaco Basket has been crowned the 2026 champions of France. The victory, which brings to a close a season defined by intense athletic competition, drew immediate and formal praise from the highest echelons of the Principality.

In an official statement released by the Prince’s Palace, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II offered his "warmest and most sincere congratulations" to the entire organization, including the players, technical staff, and the club's fanbase.

The sovereign underscored the emotional weight of the victory, noting that the title served as the ultimate reward for a season defined by hard work, self-sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to the sport.

"I would like to particularly salute the exemplary determination and professionalism that the players demonstrated throughout this difficult period," Prince Albert II stated, referencing the backdrop of institutional challenges that shadowed the team in recent months. "Despite numerous uncertainties weighing on the future, they never stopped proudly defending the Monegasque colors."

The team - popularly known as the Roca Team - clinched the championship title at the culmination of a tense, five-match final series. The palace statement lauded the roster's resilience and collective spirit, emphasizing their ability to remain unified and focused on their athletic objectives in the face of adversity.

The Prince also acknowledged the role of the club’s supporters, whose "deep and unfailing attachment" provided a steady foundation of loyalty, passion, and trust for the team throughout their championship run.
