Autumn Glow: Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo Welcomes the Riviera’s Indian Summer

Summer may be drawing to a close, but at Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, the season is lingering a little longer. The iconic Monaco hotel has unveiled Autumn Glow, a spectacular new installation inspired by the Riviera’s Indian summer, transforming its Lobby Bar until 23 November.

The latest chapter in the hotel’s seasonal Métropole Moods, Autumn Glow captures that distinctive moment when Mediterranean summer slowly gives way to autumn. Created by Perrine Guyonnet, the installation plays with colour, light and perspective while entering into dialogue with Jacques Garcia’s opulent interiors.

At its heart is one of the South of France’s most recognisable symbols: the bougainvillea. Some 4,000 long flowering branches rise towards the ceiling, where 10,000 blooms form a suspended Mediterranean canopy nearly five metres above the floor. A mirror below extends the illusion, reflecting both the flowers and guests beneath them.

Fuchsia and orange dominate the palette. The vivid pink evokes the intensity of late summer, while warm orange recalls Riviera sunsets and introduces the first golden tones of autumn. The result feels like a season caught beautifully between two worlds.

The experience continues at the bar with Éclosion, a floral interpretation of the White Negroni. Made with botanical Prince Explorer gin, bitter and Martini, the cocktail arrives with a vial of violet-hued geranium-infused water. Guests pour it themselves, gradually releasing floral aromas and transforming the drink as it is served.

Perhaps most remarkable is the installation’s fleeting creation. Each Métropole Mood is assembled overnight, allowing guests to discover an entirely transformed space the following morning.

With Autumn Glow, Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo turns the Riviera’s transition into autumn into a sensory experience — a final burst of Mediterranean colour before the new season truly begins.
