Beneath Eiffel’s Glass Dome, Belle Époque Elegance Endures at Hôtel Hermitage

At the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, morning service unfolds beneath one of the Principality’s signature architectural treasures, where Belle Époque design meets late-nineteenth-century industrial innovation.

At the center of the hotel's Winter Garden, a red-carpeted grand staircase ascends toward a mezzanine framed by an ornate glass and steel dome. The umbrella-shaped glass cupola - engineered by Gustave Eiffel - floods the surrounding marble interiors and gilded framework with natural sunlight, serving as the architectural anchor for the venue's breakfast and tea time service.

Designed in the late 1890s by architect Jean Marquet and featuring stained glass elements by master artisan L. Jacques Galland, the listed historic monument continues to operate as the central gathering point for guests navigating the palace hotel.
