The Société Dante Alighieri – Comité de la Principauté de Monaco has released its cultural calendar for the 2026–2027 term, framing the upcoming programming around the theme "Italy in Dialogue Between Past and Future." Operating under the high patronage of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover and the patronage of the Italian Embassy, the organization aims to utilize Italian language and heritage as mechanisms for international cooperation and contemporary civic inquiry.
Chaired by Maria Betti, the committee has structured the season to examine intersections between traditional humanities, scientific research, and modern sociopolitical challenges.
The schedule opens on September 17 at A Casa d’i Soci with a lecture by Dr. Paolo Di Muro, a nutritional educator and nutraceutical consultant with a background at the Cardiocentro Ticino. Titled "Is health truly the first duty of life?", the session draws from Dr. Di Muro's text Un piatto di salute, addressing preventive medicine, dietary education, and the role of scientific literacy in contemporary society.
The subsequent calendar spans a range of disciplines, incorporating institutional collaborations, academic lectures, and artistic performances. On October 14, 2026, the organization will host "Ballet and Artificial Intelligence – Coppél-i.A.," a panel exploring creativity, machine learning, and choreography produced in partnership with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and AI Monaco, moderated by Geoffroy Staquet and Leonardo Fabbri. This is followed on October 19 by "The dialogue, that word which builds the future," a conference held in conjunction with the Italian Embassy for the 26th World Week of the Italian Language featuring Massimo Gramellini.
November features two distinct presentations. On November 9, the committee presents "Ce que nous sommes," a theatrical performance integrating poetry, music, and visual media to examine linguistic expression. Shortly after, on November 18, the venue will host a screening of the film La Pazza Gioia, accompanied by a moderated discussion led by Roberta Apicella focusing on themes of social vulnerability and solidarity.
As the season progresses into the winter months, Professor Fulvio Conti delivers a lecture on December 10 examining the evolution of Dante Alighieri's public image and reception across the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The new year opens on January 13, 2027, with a documentary screening dedicated to dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, featuring an appearance by the subject. On February 5, Myriam Zerbi presents a lecture marking the 80th anniversary of the Antonio Vivaldi Italian Institute, focusing on historical musicological preservation.
Spring programming begins on March 8, 2027, when Maria Tavano of the G. Doria Museum of Natural History in Genoa presents on the scientific contributions of botanist Clelia Durazzo in honor of International Women's Day. Later that month, on March 25, the annual Dantedì observance features a dramatic reinterpretation of the Dante and Beatrice myth performed by Oreste Valente and Raffaella Tomellini.
The schedule moves toward its conclusion on April 12, 2027, with Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi leading a discussion examining the industrial history, entrepreneurship, and global footprint of Made in Italy branding. Finally, the season wraps up in May 2027 with a classical music concert organized in cooperation with the Lelio Luttazzi Foundation.
