From October 12 to 19, 2024, Monaco will host the 19th edition of the Monaco International Organ Festival, a week-long celebration dedicated to the rich organ heritage of the Principality. This year promises an exciting lineup of talented musicians, showcasing the versatility and beauty of organ music.
Kicking off the festival is a recital by Kali Malone, a rising star in the world of composition and organ performance, set to enchant audiences at the Sacré-Cœur Church. As the week unfolds, the majestic Monaco Cathedral will feature a stunning concert pairing the French Army Choir with renowned organist Johann Vexo on October 18. The festival will culminate with a spectacular Trumpet and Organ performance by Romain Leleu and Ghislain Leroy at Saint-Charles Church.
This year’s festival will offer a diverse musical repertoire, spanning from Baroque masterpieces to contemporary pieces, as well as improvisational works. Attendees can expect to experience three distinct yet harmonious aspects of organ music: the solo organ, concert organ, and accompanying organ.
Concerts will commence nightly at 8:30 PM, and best of all, admission is free, providing an excellent opportunity for both locals and visitors to immerse themselves in the captivating world of organ music. Join us in celebrating the artistry of organists and the stunning venues that enhance this incredible musical experience!
