Chelsea Football Club, one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, with two Champions League titles and six English championships, has announced the signing of 25-year-old French defender Axel Disasi from AS Monaco.
Born in Gonesse, Île-de-France, Disasi began his professional career with Paris FC during the 2015-16 season. He subsequently joined and made a name for himself at Stade de Reims, playing a key role in the club's return to European competition after the 2019-20 season.
In the summer of 2020, Disasi moved to AS Monaco, where he quickly distinguished himself. Standing at 1.90 meters, the solid defender was soon assigned the role of vice-captain after his arrival. During his time with Monaco, he contributed to the team's success, reaching the final of the Coupe de France 2021 and achieving podium finishes in Ligue 1 Uber Eats in both 2021 and 2022.
Last season, Disasi's consistency and development under the red and white jersey earned him a call-up to the French national team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Not only did he represent his country, but he also played in the final against Argentina. Since the World Cup, the versatile 25-year-old defender has been recalled for the last two French national team gatherings.
In his three seasons with AS Monaco, Disasi made a total of 129 appearances and scored 12 goals. The club expressed gratitude to Axel for his dedication and professionalism, wishing him the best for the continuation of his career. The transfer to Chelsea marks a significant step in Disasi's career, linking him with one of the top clubs in English and European football.
