Incorporating localized civic engagement into its seasonal programming, the Municipality of Monaco inaugurated its annual summer scuba diving introductory program at the Stade Nautique Rainier III on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The municipal initiative, which leverages the city-state's prime aquatic infrastructure at Port Hercule, was officially launched in the presence of Deputy Mayors Marjorie Crovetto and Axelle Amalberti Verdino, underscoring the local government's active oversight of public recreational and sporting services.
Operating within the secure facilities of the open-air stadium, the training sessions are systematically supervised by certified instructors from the Club d’Exploration Sous-Marine de Monaco (C.E.S.M.M.).
Designed to democratize access to underwater disciplines, the specialized workshops provide novices with foundational diving techniques in a controlled and highly regulated environment. The programmatic offering is entirely cost-free for participants, targeting youth and adult populations starting from the age of eight, subject to the facility's standard venue admission fees. Due to initial community demand, municipal coordinators have already finalized a second public training block, officially scheduled to convene on August 12, 2026.
