Collège Charles III Debuts as Monaco’s Premier Educational Facility

As Monaco's academic year kicks off on September 9th, a new educational landmark is set to open its doors: Collège Charles III. Situated at 7 Promenade Honoré II, this state-of-the-art institution promises to redefine learning with its innovative approach and extensive facilities.

A Modern Marvel in the Heart of Monaco

Covering nearly 24,000 square meters, Collège Charles III boasts an impressive array of amenities designed to cater to a diverse student body. The school features 64 classrooms, 14 science laboratories, and dedicated spaces for technology, art, and music. Among its highlights are a 270-seat auditorium, a 25-meter swimming pool, and a 1,000-square-meter multi-sport gymnasium. Additionally, students will benefit from two infirmaries and specialized offices for a psychologist and social worker, ensuring a supportive environment for all.

Principal Cédric Bertrand emphasizes the college's international ethos: "Charles III College is a cosmopolitan place of education where more than 46 nationalities come together. This diverse environment fosters values of tolerance, respect, and mutual support." The curriculum reflects this global perspective, offering students the option to study German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, or Russian from the sixth grade, in addition to various levels of English.

Cultural Enrichment and Rigorous Academics

The new college is committed to a balanced education that blends academic rigor with artistic and cultural development. Partnerships with local institutions like the Académie Rainier III and Théâtre Princesse Grace will enhance students' cultural experiences. The school's dynamic program includes workshops, performances, and talks integrated into the curriculum.

Noteworthy upcoming events include visits from prominent figures such as Hugo Duminil-Copin, a 2022 Fields Medal winner in mathematics, and Didier Queloz, the 2019 Nobel Laureate in Physics. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to engage with Djaïli Amadou Amal, a celebrated Cameroonian writer.

Accessibility and Community Integration

Collège Charles III is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring accessible entrances, elevators, and restrooms for students with disabilities. Its central location, bridging Condamine, Jardin Exotique, Monaco Ville, and Fontvieille, makes it easily reachable by foot or by CAM bus lines, including Line 4.

As Monaco welcomes a new chapter in education, Collège Charles III stands as a testament to the Principality's commitment to providing a cutting-edge, inclusive, and culturally rich learning environment.
