Cultivating the Next Generation of Maritime Stewards in Monaco

Every summer, the Yacht Club de Monaco transforms the Principality’s coastal waters into an immersive classroom for youth aged 6 to 15. Through its annual Summer Camps, the institution offers an engaging curriculum designed to introduce young participants to nautical practices and maritime professions.
The program blends athletic challenge with environmental education. Participants engage in sailing, competitive sports challenges, and marine discovery, gaining hands-on experience while learning the principles of ocean preservation. By pairing recreation with ecological awareness, the initiative fosters key values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and stewardship for the marine ecosystem.
Monaco’s structured approach demonstrates how coastal communities can leverage sports and tradition to instill long-term respect for the sea among younger generations.
