Can you tell us how your passion for music began? What inspired you to pursue a career as a DJ?
Kika Sassa: My passion for music was ignited during my childhood, as I grew up surrounded by a variety of sounds—classic rock, pop, and jazz. We had a vinyl player at home with an impressive collection, including The Beatles, Whitney Houston, and Frank Sinatra. These artists began shaping my musical taste. However, it was in my twenties, while partying in bars and nightclubs, that my dream of standing on the other side of the stage emerged. Although I was studying economics and working for a prestigious international brand, my heart was set on DJing. I longed to share my emotions through music, control the energy of a crowd, and make people connect and feel joy.
Who are your musical role models, and how have they influenced your style and sound as a DJ?
Kika Sassa: I don’t have specific idols that define my style, but I draw inspiration from various sources. I admire artists who fearlessly blend genres and incorporate live elements into their performances. DJs who add traditional instruments or local musical elements always catch my attention. Female DJs, in particular, inspire me with their courage to push boundaries and create powerful musical journeys. Their originality and energy resonate with me.

Kika Sassa: Each collaboration offers something unique, but performing alongside Andrea Bocelli at a gala dinner in Capri, Italy, stands out. It wasn’t just about the music; it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of an unforgettable moment with a legend.
How do you prepare for collaborations with different artists or brands such as Dolce&Gabbana, Pomellato? Is there a different approach when working with celebrities or luxury brands?
Kika Sassa: Understanding the brand’s image and values is essential. I immerse myself in the brand’s identity—its past campaigns, visuals, and the emotions it aims to evoke. For luxury brands, music should reflect elegance and sophistication. Whether for fashion shows or campaigns, I select tracks that enhance the brand’s atmosphere while maintaining my own vision. It’s about creating exclusivity and aligning the music seamlessly with the brand’s aesthetic.
Capri is known for its unique atmosphere. How does the island inspire your creativity and your performances?
Kika Sassa: Capri’s vibrant mix of serenity and vitality, combined with its Southern Italian culture and natural beauty, fuels my creativity. The island’s essence—lemons, sun, sea, and "la dolce vita"—influences my sets. I blend traditional Neapolitan music with modern electronic sounds to recreate the energy and elegance of Capri, giving guests a taste of the island’s spirit.

Kika Sassa: One trend I love is the fusion of genres. It keeps sets fresh and engaging. Mixing timeless tracks with modern beats adds an unexpected twist. The key is understanding when to play these tracks to create a cohesive, captivating experience for the audience.
When working at private events, how do you tailor your sets to create a personalised experience for your clients?
Kika Sassa: Personalization goes beyond music selection. It's about attention to detail—communication, punctuality, and creating the right mood. I focus on building an open and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring guests feel my energy. People sense that connection, and it’s why they return for more.
Where do you see the future of your music career heading, and what upcoming projects or collaborations can we expect from you?
Kika Sassa: I see my career evolving into new creative avenues, where I continue to grow as an artist. I’m currently working on my first original track, which will fuse electronic and world music, with live instrumentation for added depth. I’m also excited about my upcoming performances at clubs and private events worldwide this winter. Live shows remain a crucial part of my journey, and I’m eager to create unforgettable experiences.
