At the Monte-Carlo International Television Festival, the AMADE special jury prize has been awarded to the documentary “Protection de l’enfance : le scandale de la prostitution des enfants mineurs” (“Child Protection: The Scandal of the Prostitution of Minor Children”). The film, directed by Ms. Melanie Nunes, addresses a critical and deeply troubling societal issue.
The documentary brings to light an estimated figure of 20,000 minors in France who are believed to be affected by this crisis. Strikingly, 16,000 of these children are under the official care of the Child Social Assistance (Aide Sociale à l’Enfance or ASE). The organization presenting the award emphasized that behind these numbers lie shattered lives and personal histories heavily marked by violence, exploitation, and abandonment.
In granting the distinction, the organizers described the film as essential viewing that must be shared to break the cycle of public and institutional indifference.

The AMADE jury responsible for selecting the recipient was presided over this year by Mr. Alain Nkontchou, a committed philanthropist working alongside the organization. The ceremony highlights a continued institutional effort to use investigative media as a vehicle for raising awareness about vulnerable youth.
