easyJet is set to broaden its presence on the Côte d’Azur with the launch of a brand-new connection between Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and the English city of Birmingham. Beginning 1 May 2026, the low-cost carrier will operate two weekly flights, scheduled every Monday and Friday, offering travellers a fresh gateway to the United Kingdom’s second-largest urban area.
Strengthening Franco-British connectivity
This announcement is part of a wider development plan aimed at reinforcing easyJet’s already extensive network between France and the UK. Alongside the new Nice–Birmingham link, the airline will inaugurate two additional routes in spring 2026: Paris-Charles de Gaulle to London Stansted starting 5 March, and Montpellier to Manchester from 30 March.
With these three openings, easyJet is set to reach nearly 50 routes connecting the two countries — a symbolic threshold that highlights the company’s strategic role in cross-Channel travel. The airline has grown to become the second-largest short- and medium-haul operator in France, strengthening its market presence despite the regulatory and logistical complications introduced by Brexit.
A boost for tourism and business travel
Tickets for the new Nice–Birmingham service are already available, with introductory fares beginning at €45 one way. The schedule has been designed to appeal not only to holidaymakers but also to professionals travelling between the Riviera and the Midlands, a region known for its major economic hubs, universities, and cultural institutions.
Nice Airport’s network continues to expand
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport — which handled 14.8 million passengers in 2024 and currently connects to 122 destinations across 45 countries — continues to enhance its role as a major European aviation hub. The Birmingham addition follows recent openings to Newcastle, Düsseldorf, Madrid and Santorini, further underlining the strong demand for international travel from the Riviera.
easyJet’s newest route, combining competitive pricing with strategic timing, is expected to strengthen mobility between France and the UK at a key moment for regional tourism and business exchange.
