Folarin Balogun Scores Again at Copa América

Across the globe, AS Monaco's striker Folarin Balogun found the net once more for the United States against Panama, though he couldn't prevent his team's 2-1 defeat in the second group stage match of the Copa América. Balogun has been on fire at the start of this tournament! Having already scored against Bolivia in the United States' opening match, Balogun repeated his feat last night against Panama, becoming the tournament's joint top scorer with two goals.

Just minutes after Timothy Weah was sent off (18th minute), Balogun put his team ahead. Following a poor clearance by the Panamanian defense and a failed one-two attempt, the striker unleashed a powerful, first-time shot from outside the box. The ball rocketed into the net with the help of the post (1-0, 22nd minute). Unfortunately, the United States went on to lose 2-1.

Despite Panama's victory, it was Balogun who was named Man of the Match, thanks to his fantastic goal and overall contribution throughout the game (100% ground duels won, 3 fouls suffered). With this setback, the United States will now fight for their place in the quarter-finals against Uruguay on July 2nd (03:00). They must win their final group stage match to advance. Daghe Balo’!
