Monaco’s vibrant neighborhoods have just gained a delightful new addition. On July 17th, under the sunny skies of the Larvotto Esplanade, Mayor Georges Marsan and Deputy Mayor Marjorie Crovetto officially launched the Petit Marché du Larvotto—a charming weekly market bringing organic goodness and a community spirit to the Principality’s eastern quarter.
Nestled near Place Joséphine Baker and the Lartigue fountain, this boutique market breathes new life into the seaside district. With its focus on fresh, seasonal produce—most of it organic and locally sourced—it offers residents and visitors a relaxed, eco-conscious alternative to big grocery runs. Now, every Thursday from 8am to 1pm, Larvotto becomes a hub of color and flavor, where Mediterranean melons and vine-ripened tomatoes sit proudly on market stalls.
The initiative, led by Crovetto, reflects Monaco Town Hall’s ongoing efforts to energize local life and strengthen neighborhood connections. “This new market enhances quality of life. It makes fresh produce more accessible, while enriching the Larvotto district with a touch of authenticity and conviviality,” she shared.
Among the smiling stallholders is Samantha Devescovi of Solis Bio, a familiar face from the La Condamine market. Her stand is a celebration of sun-kissed vegetables and juicy fruits—ideal for a perfect ratatouille or a refreshing summer snack. Grown just the day before in nearby Gorbi, the produce embraces the beauty of short supply chains and sustainable living.
Adding a thoughtful touch, the Town Hall also offers free home delivery for residents in need—ensuring that everyone, no matter their mobility, can enjoy the market’s bounty.
Larvotto’s new weekly ritual is more than just shopping—it’s about community, freshness, and the joy of a local gathering by the sea.
