As Monaco gears up for the 83rd Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix, taking place from 4 to 7 June, residents and visitors should prepare for significant changes to traffic, parking and mobility across the Principality.
Throughout race weekend, many of Monaco’s central roads will be closed to vehicle traffic, including key areas around Port Hercule, Casino Square, Avenue de Monte-Carlo, Avenue Princesse Grace and Boulevard Louis II. Several tunnels, including Sainte-Dévote and Rocher Albert Ier, will also be inaccessible during race sessions. To help manage traffic flow, a number of streets will temporarily change direction or operate under modified circulation plans.
Parking restrictions are already in effect in several districts and will continue throughout the Grand Prix period. Some areas, particularly around the circuit and Port Hercule, will remain affected until mid-June as dismantling operations continue after the event.
Pedestrian access will also be regulated within the circuit perimeter. Grand Prix ticket holders, accredited guests, local residents and employees working near the circuit will continue to have access to designated zones upon presentation of the appropriate documentation.
In addition, several public Monaco ON electric vehicle charging stations will be temporarily unavailable during the event.
To encourage sustainable mobility and reduce congestion, the Princely Government has once again introduced free public transport across the entire Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) network. All bus services will operate free of charge from 1 to 8 June inclusive, not only on routes serving the Grand Prix circuit. Bus frequencies will also be increased and certain routes adjusted to accommodate the expected influx of visitors.
The annual Monaco Grand Prix remains one of the most prestigious events on the Formula 1 calendar, attracting thousands of spectators from around the world. Authorities are encouraging residents and visitors alike to plan journeys in advance and make use of public transport whenever possible throughout race week.
