Monaco has strengthened its standing on the international events scene after the Grimaldi Forum Monaco took Gold at the 2026 M&IT Awards in London, while the Principality’s Convention Bureau also received the top prize in its category.
The Grimaldi Forum was named Best Overseas Conference Centre for the second year in a row at the ceremony on 18 September, sharing the Gold award with PortAventura Convention Centre. The Convention Centre Dublin received Silver and the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya took Bronze.
The latest recognition brings the Grimaldi Forum’s M&IT Awards tally to 21 since 2003: ten Gold, nine Silver and two Bronze.
The award carries particular weight within the events industry because voting in the category is limited to professional event organisers based in the UK, with results independently audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
“Winning Gold for the second year running has a very special value because this distinction comes directly from British event organisers,” said Grimaldi Forum Managing Director Sylvie Biancheri. “It rewards the confidence of our clients and the daily commitment of all our teams.”
Monaco had further reason to celebrate in London. Visit Monaco Convention Bureau won Gold in the Best Overseas Convention Bureau category, while Fairmont Monte-Carlo was shortlisted among the finalists for Best Overseas Hotel.
The awards follow a period of significant development for the Grimaldi Forum. The venue celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025 and increased its capacity with new spaces created as part of the Mareterra development.
With recognition spanning the convention centre, destination promotion and hospitality sectors, Monaco’s showing at this year’s awards underlines the Principality’s established position in the international meetings and events market.
