In the heart of Paris, at 21 Place Vendôme, a fashion house was born that would forever redefine the boundaries of couture. Schiaparelli, founded in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli, emerged not merely as a designer brand but as a force of avant-garde elegance. Inspired by art, especially the surrealist movement, Schiaparelli dared to dream where others followed form.

Elsa, Italian by birth but Parisian by spirit, infused her work with both rebellious wit and sculptural fantasy. She introduced shocking pink—a hue as audacious as the house itself—and designed now-iconic pieces like the lobster dress(created with Salvador Dalí) and the shoe hat, turning fashion into provocation and poetry.

Today, under the creative direction of Daniel Roseberry, Schiaparelli has found new life. Roseberry, the first American to lead a historic French couture house, brings theatrical elegance to every collection, attracting a global audience of artists, actresses, and haute couture devotees.

The maison’s connection to Monaco is one of shared spirit. Schiaparelli designs have graced the Monte-Carlo Gala for Planetary Health, worn by influential figures who illuminate the principality’s red carpets. Its visionary creations mirror Monaco’s dual essence: deeply rooted in tradition, yet boldly innovative. As the only couture house based on the legendary Place Vendôme, Schiaparelli reflects Monaco’s intimate bond with legacy, luxury, and the art of transformation.

In 1934, Schiaparelli became the first female fashion designer to appear on the cover of Time magazine, a rare honor at the time, cementing her role not just in fashion, but in cultural history.

Today, as Monaco continues to evolve as a beacon of refinement and artistry, Schiaparelli remains a kindred soul—where glamour is fearless and beauty knows no limits.
