Following the extensive multi-year renovation and spring 2026 reopening of Monaco’s iconic Jardin Exotique, a new fixture at its entrance highlights a deliberate civic strategy: the Bar du Jardin Exotique.
Situated at the entrance threshold - accessible to all visitors without requiring admission to the botanical grounds - the cliffside bar occupies a terrace overlooking the Principality and the Mediterranean coast. Operations for the venue have been awarded by the municipality to restaurateurs Rémy Rinaldi and Ricardo da Silva Alves. Known locally for operating Maison Mer at the Marché de La Condamine, the duo brings an established neighborhood culinary approach to the elevated site.
Designed with local routines in mind, the venue opens daily at 7:00 a.m. - two hours prior to the garden’s general opening hours - specifically catering to area residents, morning commuters, and district workers seeking coffee and breakfast options. The beverage menu, curated by beverage director Issame Farhi, spans specialty coffees, signature matchas, and seasonal options alongside granitas and ice creams produced in partnership with local artisanal vendors.
By creating an open, accessible vantage point above the city, the municipal initiative underscores how urban design and local entrepreneurship can convert tourist landmarks into functional, daily anchors for the surrounding neighborhood.
