Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, one of Monaco’s most established independent luxury properties, reopened on May 2, 2025, following a five-month closure. The relaunch marks the beginning of a phased renovation and repositioning strategy designed to maintain the hotel’s historical identity while adapting its offerings to meet evolving expectations in the high-end hospitality sector.

The summer of 2025 brings the debut of 45 newly renovated guest rooms, located on the hotel’s second and third floors. These are the first significant updates to the rooms since 2004, with the exception of the Carré d’Or Suite, which was refurbished in 2019. The redesign, overseen by French interior designer Jacques Garcia, moves toward a lighter Riviera-inspired palette while maintaining the baroque details that distinguish the property’s character. Updates include increased natural light, reconfigured layouts, and updated technology systems intended to appeal to a younger international clientele.

One of the most substantial additions for the season is the opening of The Spa Métropole by Guerlain, which launched in July 2025. The space was conceived by designer Samy Itani in collaboration with the House of Guerlain and includes ten treatment rooms, a sauna, hammam, fitness area, and a specialized Bastien Gonzalez mani-pedi studio. The spa menu includes three treatments developed exclusively for the hotel—Monaco Glow, Puissance du Rocher, and Golden Sand—alongside Guerlain’s signature Black Orchid and Imperial Relaxing Rituals.

Poolside dining has also shifted, with ZIA at Odyssey—designed originally by Karl Lagerfeld—opening to the public for the first time in 2025. Previously accessible only to hotel guests, the restaurant now operates from May through October, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dishes are Italian-inflected, including truffle pizzas, Sicilian-style sea bass, and Modena-style tigelle sandwiches. The new approach includes curated aperitivo hours and culinary workshops hosted by chefs Manon Santini and Rocco Seminara.

Inside the hotel, Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac continues to serve as the culinary centerpiece. The restaurant retained its two Michelin stars in the March 2025 Guide, confirming its status as one of Monaco’s top fine dining establishments. The menu remains Mediterranean-focused, with emphasis on refined simplicity and dramatic plating.

Hôtel Métropole’s latest changes are the result of a multi-phase modernization effort balancing luxury heritage with discreet reinvention. As of August 2025, the hotel operates at full capacity with all updated facilities open to guests and the public. Renovation work on the remaining rooms is expected to continue into the winter offseason, with further updates projected for 2026.
