In Monaco, a New Generation of Fine Artists Intersects Classical Sculpture with Contemporary Narrative

At Pavillon Bosio, Monaco’s École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques, emerging fine artist Sarah Razafimandimby presented her original body of work for the 2026 Diplôme National d’Art (DNA) graduate exhibition.

Investigating the tension between attraction and repulsion, Razafimandimby’s studio practice operates within an in-between space, examining how personal narrative intersects with spatial installation. Central to her work is the concept of adornment (la parure), which she uses to ritualize a reimagined femininity while engaging dark, intimate storytelling.

Her spatial installations forge echoes between traditional sculptural techniques and contemporary processes, reflecting the institution's dual emphasis on fine arts and scenography.
