At an age when many children are just mastering basic movement, the AS Monaco Handball club is introducing them to the fundamentals of one of the world’s fastest team sports. Through its Baby Hand program, the club offers an adapted version of handball designed specifically for children as young as 3.
The weekly sessions, held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., last one hour and focus on developing motor skills, coordination, and team spirit in a playful, educational environment. Activities take place on small courts with simplified rules and lightweight balls, allowing the youngest participants to engage safely and enjoyably.
The initiative is part of a broader approach by AS Monaco Handball to serve participants across a wide age range. The club currently has nearly 340 licensed members, from age 3 to 75, organized into various categories. In addition to Baby Hand, it offers HandFit and leisure groups that cater to those not focused on competitive play, ensuring the sport remains accessible regardless of age or ambition.

The Baby Hand sessions emphasize fun and foundational skills rather than early specialization, aligning with modern approaches to youth sports development that prioritize long-term participation and physical literacy.
