When it comes to making connections that matter, few do it better than Jessica Chaijaya, a powerhouse in investment, philanthropy, and international affairs. Dubbed “The Networker” for her uncanny ability to bridge the gap between business owners and the right partners, Jessica has spent decades cultivating relationships across industries, politics, and philanthropy—always with a keen instinct for knowing who needs what, and who can provide it.
Now, as a Monaco 2025 40 Over 40 honoree, she is being recognized for her remarkable contributions to business, global affairs, and social impact.
A Visionary in Beauty and Business
Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Jessica made her first mark in the cosmetics industry, co-founding one of Asia’s most prestigious beauty salon chains in 2001. She later took her expertise to the global stage, acquiring a majority stake in EMK Beverly Hills in 2014. Under her strategic leadership, the brand flourished, ultimately attracting a private equity acquisition in 2021. With that success behind her, Jessica shifted gears, dedicating more of her time and resources to philanthropy and impact-driven investments.
A Global Force for Good
Jessica’s passion for social justice and environmental preservation has taken her from high-level political discussions to hands-on philanthropy. She has worked with world leaders such as French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Hong Kong’s Carrie Lam, and Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, advocating for human rights and sustainable development.
Her commitment to humanitarian causes dates back to 1998 when, following the Indonesian Revolution, she was invited by U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi to discuss the treatment of ethnic minorities in Indonesia. Over the years, she has lent her voice to major global conversations, including the impact of Brexit, after being personally invited by Baroness Jenkins and Lord Bates of the British Parliament.
A Philanthropic Heart
Jessica’s generosity and dedication to philanthropy have been recognized at the highest levels. In 2019, she was personally congratulated by His Majesty King Charles III for her work with The Prince’s Trust Foundation for Children. Her long-standing support of environmental conservation led to her receiving the Maria Callas Award for Philanthropy in 2023, presented by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco for her contributions to the Prince Albert II Foundation for the Oceans.
Building a Legacy in Impact Investing
Today, Jessica and her husband, Fabian de Mortier, call Dublin home, where they lead Tera Capital, their family office specializing in renewable energy investments. As Deputy Head of Public Affairs and Deal Sourcing, she continues her legacy of bringing the right people together, whether in business, philanthropy, or international affairs.
Her recognition as a Monaco 2025 40 Over 40 award winner is a testament to her ability to create lasting change—proving that success isn’t just about what you achieve, but who you empower along the way.
