Jumping International de Monte-Carlo: An Equestrian Spectacle at Port Hercule

From July 4 to 6, Port Hercule will be transformed into an equestrian arena for the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo. This prestigious event has been a highlight on the international show jumping calendar for over fifteen years, attracting the world's top riders.

The Jumping International de Monte-Carlo, set against the backdrop of the Prince's Palace, promises exhilarating sporting moments. As part of the esteemed Longines Global Champions Tour, often compared to the Formula 1 world championship for horses, this event will welcome the best riders from around the globe for three days of competition in the stunning setting of Port Hercule.

Transforming Port Hercule into an equestrian stadium is a unique challenge. Tons of fibrous sand are brought in to create the course, and the port area is converted into stables. This luxurious environment, specific to the event, sees horses resting among the world’s most beautiful yachts between competitions. The seating around the main arena will host notable guests, including prominent family names and crowned heads, all eager to witness top-tier equine competition. Spectators can also visit the paddocks and stables, explore the event village with its boutiques and exhibitors, and perhaps meet some of the riders and their magnificent horses.

Only the best riders and horses are invited to compete in Monaco. Known for its high-quality and technically demanding course, the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo is a symbol of excellence for both participants and spectators. It ranks as the third largest sporting event in the Principality, following the Tennis Masters and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Similar to the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the uniqueness of this event lies in its challenging course, which is short, narrow, and winding, filled with numerous obstacles. Competitors must use all their technical skills to achieve the best time and win the trophy. Whether you are a novice or an expert in equestrianism, the competition is sure to thrill.

A highlight of the event is the Pro-Am Cup, sponsored by Charlotte Casiraghi. Created in 2010, this exciting relay race pairs professional and amateur riders in a race against the clock, offering another layer of excitement over the three days.

The program over the three days includes amateur events during the day and elite competitions in the evening. The pinnacle of the weekend is the Longines Global Champions Tour – GRAND PRIX du Prince de Monaco on Saturday, July 6, 2024. This grand finale will feature the best riders competing on an extremely challenging course, promising a thrilling conclusion to three days of top-class equestrian competition.
