Kassoum Ouattara has quickly made a significant impact at AS Monaco after being acquired from Ligue 2 side Amiens SC last November. The club’s decision to secure his services for approximately €2 million has proven to be a wise investment.
Ouattara began his journey in the youth teams of US Ivry and FC Montrouge before joining the Amiens academy in 2020. It took just two years for him to be promoted to the first team, debuting in the 2022-23 season and gaining valuable experience with 12 appearances.
Continuing his momentum into the following season, Ouattara started Amiens’ first 10 games and made his debut for France’s U20 team. Following Caio Henrique’s season-ending knee injury, Monaco signed Ouattara on a five-year deal as his replacement.
“I want to thank the club for their trust, especially Thiago [Scuro] and the coach. Changing teams mid-season is unusual, but as a footballer, you must adapt quickly,” Ouattara stated. He was particularly excited about Adi Hütter’s offensively-geared approach, which aligned with his playing style. “Monaco’s attacking style of play appeals to me. I love to attack; it’s in my blood. This offensive approach made me eager to join the club.”
Ouattara has found his footing as a left-sided wingback, a position he played last season. He also adapted well to playing in a four-man defense with Amiens, demonstrating his versatility and readiness to contribute to AS Monaco’s ambitions.
