Travelling between the French Riviera and New York is set to become easier year-round. La Compagnie, the French airline offering exclusively business-class cabins, will extend its direct Nice–Newark service through the winter 2026/2027 season, marking the first time the route will operate beyond the traditional summer schedule.
Following strong demand on both sides of the Atlantic, the airline will maintain two weekly flights throughout winter. Services from Nice will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon, arriving in Newark at 3:30pm local time. Return flights will leave Newark on Mondays and Fridays at 8:30pm, reaching Nice the following morning.
The move reflects the growing relationship between the French Riviera and the United States. More than 300,000 passengers travelled on direct transatlantic routes from the region in 2025, while Nice Côte d’Azur Airport continues to strengthen its position as France’s leading gateway to the US outside Paris.
For travellers, La Compagnie offers a distinctive alternative to traditional long-haul flying. Its Airbus A321neo aircraft feature just 76 seats, all in business class, converting into fully flat beds. The single-cabin concept combines the intimacy of a smaller aircraft with a premium transatlantic experience.
The year-round connection also comes as Nice Airport expands its international reach. Terminal 2’s recent extension has increased annual capacity to 18 million passengers, while new routes, including a direct Boston service, are further strengthening links with North America.
For Riviera residents, the winter extension means greater flexibility for business trips and New York escapes without connecting through Paris or another European hub. For American visitors, meanwhile, it offers direct access to the Côte d’Azur well beyond the summer season — another sign of the Riviera’s evolution into a truly year-round destination.
