Monaco’s Marché de la Condamine took on a livelier rhythm on Thursday 6th August as Apéro Musique Livereturns for another summer evening of music, food and drinks in the heart of the Principality. Running from 6pm to 9.30pm, the event transformed the traditional market on Place d’Armes into an informal live music venue. Entry was free and no reservation or ticket were required, making it an easy option for an after-work aperitif or a relaxed start to an evening in Monaco.
Organised by the Mairie de Monaco, Apéro Musique Live takes place on the first Thursday of each month. Rather than creating a separate concert space, the performances are integrated into the market itself, allowing guests to order from the surrounding food stalls and eateries while listening to live music.
The formula fits naturally with the character of La Condamine, one of Monaco’s most sociable neighbourhoods. Located just a short walk from Port Hercule, its covered market has long been a meeting place for residents, combining traditional produce stalls with counters serving everything from local specialities to casual Mediterranean dishes.
During Apéro Musique Live, that everyday atmosphere continues into the evening. Local and international musicians provide the soundtrack while tables fill with groups meeting for drinks and dinner, creating a convivial setting that feels distinctly different from Monaco’s more formal nightlife.
The monthly event forms part of a wider programme organised by the Mairie to bring entertainment into the Principality’s neighbourhoods and public spaces throughout the year.
For visitors in Monaco this summer, the August edition offers a simple way to experience a more local side of the Principality: live music, an aperitif and an evening among the stalls of one of Monaco’s best-known markets.
