MONTE-CARLO — On April 8, 2025, the Principality of Monaco launched the TAXI MONACO mobile app, a significant step in modernizing its public services and enhancing the efficiency of its taxi network. Developed by Monaco Skyline, a Monegasque company hosted by the business incubator MONACO BOOST, the app integrates seamlessly with the Prince’s Government’s Extended Monaco digital strategy, reflecting Monaco’s commitment to innovation while preserving its hallmark of luxury.
The TAXI MONACO app, available in French, English, and Italian, allows users to book taxis instantly or schedule rides in advance, track drivers in real-time, communicate via chat, and pay securely through the app. Users can also access trip histories, save favorite addresses, and download receipts, offering a streamlined experience tailored to Monaco’s discerning clientele. The app complements the newly launched www.taximonaco.mc website, which includes a fare estimator and detailed service information, further boosting the visibility of the official Taxis de Monaco network.
“This application ushers us into modernity,” said Pierre-André Chiappori, Monaco’s Minister of Finance and Economy, emphasizing its role in aligning the Principality’s taxi services with global standards. Marc Brezzo, President of the Association des Exploitants des Taxis Indépendants de Monaco (A.E.T.I.M.), called the app a “game-changer,” noting that two-thirds of Monaco’s 95 taxis have adopted in-app payments, with the remainder accepting cash.
By enhancing accessibility and professionalism, the TAXI MONACO app reinforces Monaco’s reputation as a hub of luxury and innovation. While it may not fully resolve rush-hour challenges, as noted by A.E.T.I.M.’s Laurent Campora, the app marks a pivotal step toward smarter urban mobility. Residents and visitors can now navigate the Principality with ease, whether heading to a gala, a lunch in Larvotto, or a night at the casino.
