Prince Albert II of Monaco hosted Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, at the Prince’s Palace on Monday, June 15, for a formal audience focused on strengthening ties between the two nations.
The dialogue centered on expanding cooperation in several key sectors, with a notable emphasis on the "blue economy." Prince Albert II, who has long championed the preservation and sustainable use of marine resources through initiatives like the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s ReOcean Fund, highlighted this as a priority area for future collaboration.
Beyond environmental initiatives, the discussions explored potential partnerships in emerging technologies, particularly regarding their application in health and medicine. The two leaders also discussed advancing cooperation in renewable energy and fostering closer academic and university exchanges, with a specific focus on the International University of Monaco (IUM).
The meeting underscores a growing diplomatic interest in leveraging the unique strengths of both the Principality and India to address global challenges in sustainability and technological innovation.
