Monaco has officially opened volunteer registrations ahead of the Grand Départ of La Vuelta 2026, scheduled to take place in the Principality in August next year. With around 200 days remaining before the start of the Spanish cycling race, organizers are seeking volunteers to support the logistics and operations of the event.
The Grand Départ of La Vuelta will mark a first for Monaco and is expected to attract significant international attention, with millions of television viewers worldwide. To ensure the smooth running of the event, volunteers will be assigned to a variety of roles, including public reception, spectator guidance, logistical assistance and support for professional cycling teams.
The recruitment is open to people of all ages and backgrounds, and no prior experience is required. According to the organizers, availability and motivation are the main criteria, with training and briefings to be provided in advance of the event.
Interested candidates can register via the official website dedicated to the Monaco Grand Départ. An information meeting has also been scheduled for March 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the auditorium of Lycée Rainier III, located in the Fontvieille district. During this session, organizers will present the volunteer missions, operational requirements and key dates leading up to the race.
Beyond their operational role, volunteers will have the opportunity to experience the event from behind the scenes and gain insight into the organization of a major international cycling competition. Monaco has previously hosted several stages of the Tour de France, and organizers hope to build on this experience to deliver a successful and well-coordinated start to La Vuelta 2026.
