The Principality has successfully concluded its first-ever edition of the Mathematics Olympiad, a competition designed to challenge students to engage with the subject through a lens beyond traditional classroom curricula.
The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Collège Charles III. The event was attended by distinguished officials, including Lionel Beffre, Minister of the Interior, and Jean-Philippe Vinci, Director of National Education, Youth and Sports.
The inaugural competition, held this past April, saw participation from approximately 300 students across the sixth (sixième), fifth (cinquième), and tenth (seconde) grade levels within the Principality. Organizers noted that the initiative serves as an essential method to encourage students to approach mathematics in a different and more dynamic way compared to standard coursework.
