The Principality’s commitment to its ancestral ties was on full display this past Saturday, June 13, as Prince Albert II officially inaugurated the 7th edition of the Rencontres des Sites historiques Grimaldi (Grimaldi Historic Sites Meeting).
The event, held on the Place du Palais, served as a diplomatic and cultural bridge, welcoming delegations from across France and Italy - territories bound to Monaco by centuries of shared history. Accompanied by Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella, the Sovereign greeted representatives from several historic fiefdoms, including the French department of Mayenne and the Italian Piedmontese towns of Pianezza and Livorno Ferraris.
In his opening address, Prince Albert II emphasized that these meetings are more than a ceremonial gathering; they are a testament to a "common history" and a formal expression of his desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation, and exchange between Monaco and these linked territories.

Following the ceremony, the Princely Family toured the exhibitor village set up on the palace square. The visit provided an opportunity to engage directly with elected officials, local artisans, and producers who traveled to the Principality to showcase the traditions and heritage of their respective regions.
