AS Monaco were left frustrated after a 2–2 draw against Toulouse at the Toulouse FC, conceding a stoppage-time equaliser that further complicates their push for European qualification in Ligue 1.

The match, played at the Stadium de Toulouse, had started perfectly for Monaco. Dominant in the opening half-hour, they quickly took control with two well-worked goals. Jordan Teze opened the scoring early with a header from a corner, before Lamine Camara doubled the lead with a superb curled strike into the top corner. Monaco looked sharp, organised, and in full control, with additional chances to extend their advantage before the break.

However, the second half told a very different story. Monaco dropped their intensity, allowing Toulouse to grow into the game. The hosts reduced the deficit through Jacen Russell-Rowe in the 60th minute, setting up a tense final phase. Despite a brief Monaco response, including a late acrobatic effort from Denis Zakaria that was brilliantly saved, the match slipped away in the final seconds.

In the 90th minute, Toulouse capitalised on sustained pressure. A late cross caused confusion in the Monaco defence, and Emersonn, newly introduced, finished from close range to level the score and silence the visitors.

After the match, coach Sébastien Pocognoli expressed disappointment at his side’s inconsistency, praising their strong start but criticising the loss of control after halftime. Midfielder Lamine Camara echoed the sentiment, acknowledging that Monaco failed to maintain their intensity and did not fully execute the tactical plan.

The result marks a third consecutive match without victory for Monaco, a run that comes at a crucial stage of the season. With only a few games remaining, their hopes of finishing in the European qualification spots are now under serious threat.

Monaco will travel to face relegated FC Metz next week, a match that appears favourable on paper but leaves little room for error if they are to revive their European ambitions.
