Monaco’s government has confirmed that high school students will begin the new term remotely on January 5 at 2 p.m., following the determination that the former Charles III College building cannot be reoccupied due to essential reinforcement work on the parish site.
To enable the swift resumption of in-person classes, new temporary locations have already been identified and are being prepared. These include a concentrated educational environment around Promenade Honoré II, utilizing available rooms from Charles III College and Rainier III High School, plus 22 additional provisional classrooms at the Îlot Pasteur site.
To free up capacity at Rainier III High School, higher education classes will be temporarily moved to vacant spaces in the “Ruscino” building (Quai Antoine 1er) previously used by the International School of Monaco (ISM). These premises will also host essential non-classroom services for high school students, such as guidance counseling, psychology support, social assistance, library access, and parent reception.

The precise date for full in-person resumption at the new sites will be announced shortly. Physical education and sports classes are scheduled to begin in person during the week of January 5, with specific arrangements communicated directly to students and parents by the Directorate of National Education, Youth and Sports.
