Monaco Marks the Start of Saint Roman Festivities with Traditional Gathering on the Rock

The annual festivities honoring Saint Roman, one of Monaco’s patron saints, commenced on Saturday, July 25, marked by the traditional gathering for soupe au pistou in the Saint-Martin Gardens on the Rock (Le Rocher).
Organized with the support of the Municipality of Monaco (Mairie de Monaco), the community event brought together local residents and civic officials to celebrate one of the Principality's enduring heritage traditions. Among the attendees were Deputy Mayors Jacques Pastor and André J. Campana, along with Communal Councilor Jean-Luc Puyo.
The opening gathering serves as the precursor to a series of commemorative events that will culminate on August 9 with the official feast day of Saint Roman. The celebrations will conclude with a formal service at the altar dedicated to Saint Roman inside the Monaco Cathedral (Cathédrale de Monaco).
