Monaco Philharmonic Orchestra launches its iconic Summer Concerts at the Prince’s Palace

The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra has opened its celebrated 2026 Summer Concert season, bringing classical music once again to the spectacular Cour d’Honneur of the Prince’s Palace—one of Monaco’s most atmospheric open-air venues.

The series began on 9 July with a memorable performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor, conducted by internationally acclaimed maestro Philippe Jordan. Set against the historic backdrop of the Prince’s Palace, the concert offered an evening of powerful orchestral music in a setting that has become synonymous with Monaco’s cultural calendar.

A highlight of the Principality’s summer season, the concerts have been held since 1959, when they were established by Prince Rainier III. Over the decades, the event has evolved into one of Europe’s most distinguished open-air classical music festivals, reflecting the Princely Family’s enduring support for the arts and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra’s international reputation for artistic excellence.

This year’s programme continues throughout July and early August, with additional performances scheduled for 12, 26 and 30 July, followed by concerts on 2 and 6 August. Each evening brings a new opportunity to experience world-class musicians performing in the unique surroundings of the Palace courtyard, where history, architecture and music come together under the Mediterranean sky.

The Summer Concerts remain one of Monaco’s signature cultural experiences, attracting both residents and international visitors seeking exceptional performances in an unforgettable setting.

Tickets and the full programme are available through the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
