Monaco Prepares for National Day with Spectacular Drone Show and Exciting Concerts

Monaco to Commemorate National Day with Spectacular Drone Show and Concerts

Monaco is preparing for a grand celebration to mark its annual National Day, known locally as La Fête du Prince. This cherished event honors the Principality’s history and pays tribute to Prince Albert II. With a blend of modern attractions and traditional festivities, this year's celebration promises to be a spectacular occasion, uniting Monegasques and residents alike.

The festivities officially begin on Wednesday, 13th November, with an afternoon dedicated to children at Espace Léo Ferré. Running from 2:30pm to 6pm, the event will offer a variety of activities for children aged two to 14, including bouncy castles, creative workshops, games, and a range of treat stands. This is an opportunity for the younger generation to join in the celebrations and enjoy a lively start to the holiday season in Monaco.

A standout feature of the festivities will be the colossal drone show on the evening of Monday, 18th November. A stunning display of 800 drones will light up the skies above Monaco, beginning at 8pm. This cutting-edge light show promises to be a visual spectacle, showcasing Monaco’s embrace of modern technology. The viewing area for this event will be located at Quai Albert Ier, and is exclusively for those with invitations.

Immediately following the drone show, a special concert will take place at Espace Léo Ferré at 9pm. The concert will feature the talented singer Nicoletta, who will perform alongside a gospel choir in what promises to be an unforgettable acoustic performance. This event is open to both adults and children aged 10 and older, though children must be accompanied by an adult.

On the big day itself, Tuesday, 19th November, the celebrations continue with another concert, this time featuring French singer Liane Foly. The concert, also held at Espace Léo Ferré, will begin at 6pm. Like the previous events, this one is open to adults and children over 10, with the requirement that minors are accompanied by an adult.

For those looking to attend any of these main events, invitations will be distributed from the Espace Léo Ferré and the Mairie de Monaco. Monegasques can collect their tickets on Tuesday, 5th November, while Monaco residents can obtain theirs on Wednesday, 6th and Thursday, 7th November. The kiosk at the Espace Léo Ferré will be open from 11am to 6pm, and the ticket desk at the Mairie will be available from 9am to 4pm. Attendees should bring identification, including proof of residency, as tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The National Day celebrations will also maintain strong ties to tradition. On Tuesday, 19th November, the Condamine Market will once again play a central role in the festivities. From 9am to 2pm, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy local delicacies and festive treats, while live entertainment will take over the market from 7:30pm, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the day.

Additionally, the Port Hercule autumn fair will remain open until 1am on the night between Monday, 18th November, and Tuesday, 19th November, offering extended hours for families and visitors looking to enjoy the fairground attractions.

For a more cultural experience, a special invite-only performance of Giacomo Puccini’s *La Bohème* will be performed by the Opéra de Monte-Carlo at the Grimaldi Forum on Tuesday, 19th November. This exclusive event is expected to be a highlight of the celebration, offering a sophisticated artistic touch to the day’s proceedings.

With an exciting combination of modern light shows, live concerts, and traditional celebrations, Monaco’s National Day 2024 promises to be a memorable occasion. Whether enjoying the drone show or partaking in the festivities at the Condamine Market, there’s something for everyone in Monaco’s vibrant celebrations of *La Fête du Prince*.
