The Monaco Run 2025 set new records as 3,800 athletes filled the streets of the Principality for its 15th edition, making it the most attended race weekend in the event’s history. With world-class performances, an exciting new charity initiative, and an electric atmosphere, this year’s competition solidified Monaco’s reputation as a premier destination for elite and amateur runners alike.
Taking place over the weekend of 8–9 February, the event featured six races, including the highly anticipated 5km, which has long been known for delivering exceptional performances. Among this year’s standout athletes were Olympic triathlon champion Cassandre Beaugrand and defending champion Likina Amebaw, who had set the women’s course record in 2024.
The race once again lived up to its reputation, as Dutch runner Diane Van Es clocked 14’39, setting a new European record and cementing her place in history. Cassandre Beaugrand also made waves, securing a French national record with a time of 14’53. In the men’s category, Belgian athlete Isaac Kimeli finished in 13’18, missing the European record by just three seconds.
Beyond the elite competition, Monaco Run 2025 embraced a growing sense of community, with 37% of runners being women and 15% traveling from outside France and Monaco. The race weekend also introduced a new charitable initiative, allowing participants to donate a portion of their entry fee to one of four Monégasque charities supporting environmental conservation, cancer awareness, and children’s causes.
With enthusiastic spectators lining the streets and perfect race-day weather, the Monaco Run 2025 was a resounding success, reinforcing its status as one of the most exciting events on the international running calendar.
