Monaco has taken a significant step in bolstering support for individuals facing abuse with the launch of its new, streamlined helpline: 39 19. As of this month, the Principality has replaced the previous 0800 91 90 10 hotline with the easy-to-remember number, offering a lifeline to those affected by violence in all its forms.
This new initiative aligns Monaco with France’s national support network, ensuring that calls placed within the Principality connect directly to the Association d’Aide aux Victimes d’Infractions Pénales (AVIP). Trained professionals from AVIP are on hand to provide discreet, compassionate guidance and information tailored to the needs of each caller.
The helpline is open to anyone in need of assistance—whether they are dealing with domestic abuse, sexual violence, workplace harassment, or other traumatic experiences. Operating under strict confidentiality, it offers a trusted space for victims to seek help without fear of judgment or exposure.
More than just a number change, the launch of 39 19 is part of a broader effort driven by Monaco’s Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights. This initiative is designed to expand access to vital resources, reinforce the state’s support for victims, and encourage greater awareness around the issue of violence.
In urgent, life-threatening situations, residents are still urged to contact the emergency services directly by dialing 17 or 112.
Monaco’s adoption of the 39 19 helpline reflects a clear and compassionate message: no one should face abuse alone, and help is always just a phone call away.
