On October 10, 2025, Prince Albert II welcomed Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to the Prince’s Palace, marking a significant moment in the principality’s humanitarian engagement. The meeting focused on joint efforts between the Monegasque Government, the Red Cross, and the ICRC, with discussions centering on respecting international humanitarian law (DIH) and addressing global challenges.

Prince Albert expressed deep concern over the Principality’s role amid worldwide violations of DIH, reaffirming Monaco’s support for ICRC-led initiatives. The visit extended to the Monegasque Red Cross headquarters, where Spoljaric and the Prince, joined by Frédéric Platini, Secretary General, convened to enhance cooperation, particularly in logistics and human resources.

The occasion also highlighted an exhibition titled “(you) LEAVE ME ALONE,” featuring photographs by Davide Virmariano. The display, held within 15 kilometers of Monaco, showcased the plight of vulnerable migrants and underscored the Red Cross’s ongoing mission to support the most at-risk populations.
