Monaco is reinforcing its strategy to attract and integrate new residents by focusing on three key pillars: security, identity, and quality of life. During a recent conference held at the Méridien Beach Plaza, the Principality’s officials outlined an approach that seeks to balance openness with stability, aiming to create an environment where newcomers can settle and thrive with confidence.
Security remains the foundation of Monaco’s appeal. The Principality continues to maintain one of the lowest crime rates in Europe, with only 888 recorded incidents in 2024, more than half of which were solved. This exceptional record is supported by a highly trained police force of 620 officers, an extensive network of 1,300 surveillance cameras, and a rigorous administrative system ensuring both public safety and integrity in all professional activities.
Beyond security, Monaco is committed to simplifying the integration process for newcomers. The Attractiveness Unit handles nearly 2,800 inquiries each year, most of them related to residence permits. Digital innovations now allow for online applications and renewals, while multilingual teams assist residents in English, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, and Russian, reflecting the Principality’s cosmopolitan nature.
Integration also extends to the social sphere, with initiatives designed to help new residents feel part of the community. Organisations such as the Club des Résidents Étrangers de Monaco provide opportunities for newcomers to connect, learn about local customs, and participate in cultural life.
Monaco’s strategy is also expanding beyond its borders, with new outreach initiatives to attract residents from diverse regions. The Principality continues to present itself as a model of peace, trust, and well-being—an enduring refuge for those seeking a safe and harmonious lifestyle in the heart of the Mediterranean.
